The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Division was working a string of vehicle burglaries in which the offender was breaking the windows of vehicles to steal personal information and valuable items. One of the stolen items in one of the burglaries was a cell phone. A search in LeadsOnline showed the detectives that a phone matching the one that was stolen had been sold to an ecoATM at a Walmart in a nearby jurisdiction. After recovering the cell phone, they were able to confirm that it was in fact the stolen phone and were able to identify a suspect as a result. After developing the suspect, they were able to issue an arrest warrant and solve the string of vehicle burglaries.
