Officers from the Cheverly Police Department responded to a breaking and entering at a residence in Prince George’s County. A few weeks later, officers responded to a similar incident in the same area. In both instances, the suspect used a rock to break through a glass window. Once inside, the suspect stole several valuable items. During the investigation, the suspect went to a Truist bank and attempted to deposit a check they had taken from the victim’s house. They put their name on the check but left before the transaction was complete. The bank contacted the victim, who then reached out to the detectives. Detectives searched the suspect using LeadsOnline where they located several items that were stolen at both residences. Items were found at both a local pawn shop as well as one in Washington D.C., and the items were placed on hold. Using LeadsOnline, the detectives were able to retrieve over $30,000 of the victim’s property and positively identity a suspect for a serial B&E case.
