Anne Arundel County Police Department was alerted to a possible scam involving the sale of fake Rolex watches. Using LeadsOnline’s up-to-date transaction information, it was determined that the seller of these watches was doing so at multiple dealer locations. Police responded and arrested the seller on unrelated charges, and due to probable cause were able to search the suspect’s vehicle and find six more Rolex watches. The seller was arrested, and two accomplices were identified. All six watches were deemed fake by certified Rolex technicians. Searches in LeadsOnline revealed that all three subjects had histories of selling gold chains and Rolex watches all over the country. Further investigation also uncovered reports have been made to other agencies about the same scam. Charges were sought using this information.
